Christmas is coming

And the geese might be getting fat, but they will not be making an appearance on our table.

We will, as usual, be having a traditional Christmas dinner but with a couple of extra additions this year.  We have guests coming who would be disappointed if potatoes, parsnips, and carrots were off the menu and so we (by which I mean "I", naturally), will be cooking additional veggies that are lower in starchy carbs so that T can eat without the blood sugar spike that accompanies roast potatoes and parsnips.

I think we'll go for celeriac.  It has become my favourite vegetable in the months since T's diagnosis because of its amazing versatility; it can be chipped, roasted, mashed, stewed, grated and eaten raw, sliced and baked and probably made into a smoothie, though I've not yet tried that one.

Anyway, busy busy busy, so I'll try to come back and update this journal about B's first trip to see Father Christmas and other sundry stuff later on.
